Rebecca Markel

Rebecca Markel began her love affair with the harp at the age of 4. She began taking lessons from the harpist with the Denver Symphony at the age of 13.  She continued taking lessons from her throughout college, at which time she was told that she had been taught everything the Denver Symphony harpist knew.  She studied harp at a music camp called Interlochen, located in Michigan, attending on a harp scholarship.  She has played for women's choral groups, symphonies and bands and performed at weddings, funerals, purity ceremonies and has accompanied solo vocalists.  Rather than the large concert grand harp, she now performs on a Celtic harp which combines the volume of the concert grand with the unique expressive qualities and more portable and accessible size of the smaller lever instrument.  She continues to study harp in the area of healing music, harp ensembles and duet groups.  She is an active member of the Colorado Celtic Harp Society and is a regular contributor to the CCHS newsletter.  She helps to foster the love of the harp with children as well as adults.  She joined Jennifer Pauley on the flute in 2015.

Rebecca has a BS in Medical Technologoy a Paralegal license, and two Master Degrees in Education, one in Elementary Education and the other in Curriculum and Instruction coupled with a Principal's License.
