To reserve the date for your event please click on the book us now button to contact us and check for availability. Date is reserved and event is booked once a contract for the event has been signed and the deposit paid.

 
Rates (effective April 18th 2016)

 

 

  • Special event fee: 200/hr

     

  • Event fee for two or more events: 150/hr

 

  • Wedding Ceremonies: $500 (30 minutes prelude, selection for seating Mothers/Grandmothers, bridal party processional, bridal processional, interlude music, recessional and up to 15 minutes postlude music).

 

  • Funerals/Memorial Services: $200 (20-30 minutes prelude music, up to four songs during service, mass proper for Catholic services and recessional music)

 

  • Purity Ceremony:  200/hr

  • Name Song: unique original composition prepared and tailored for each client.  Includes performance of the composition at the event, MP3 recording emailed to client and autographed and framed copy of manuscript.  The Name Song renders client(s) names ​into a musical theme which forms the basis of the composition.  Great gift for newlyweds, graduates, birthdays and guests of honor.:  $100

 
Discounts

 

        Your event may be eligible for a discounted rate if you meet one or more of the following criteria: 

  • Non-profit/ charity

 

  • Payment in full two weeks prior to event (as opposed to deposit at contract and payment in full on day of event)

 

  • Refer a client and that client books an event with Lark Song Duo

  • Hire Lark Song Duo for both wedding ceremony and reception

 

  • Hire Lark Song Duo for two​​ or more events

Online Payments

Lark Song Duo excepts cash, check or online credit card payments.  If you wish to pay by credit card,  payment can be made either through paypall ($20 surcharge from paypall) or through Venmo (no additional charge.

Included in all rates packages

 

Fees include event consultation, amplification, instrument insurance, travel time and cost, set-up time, instrument maintenance and communication with officiants, venues and other parties to ensure that music is perfectly coordinated to your event.

The standard mileage rate of 53.5 cents per mile applies to locations outside a 30 mile radius of Brighton. Special requests are usually included in the event fee unless the music needs to be special ordered or involves extensive transcription.

 

Set-up Procedures

 

The Lark Song Duo will arrive at your event with ample time to set up equipment, adjust sound system, tune and communicate with necessary parties about the finalized event time-line and any necessary cues. Contact information for the venue personnel will be collected at the time of the contract to ensure that the duo has access to the area with enough time to allow the harp to adapt to its new environment. The instrument and its strings need ample time to adjust to changes in humidity and temperature and may need to be tuned several times before the event begins.

 

Amplification

 

Amplification, when necessary, is included in all event fees and will be adjusted to match the desired ambiance of your event. Lark Song Duo needs access to a single standard outlet to hook up sound equipment. If there is no outlet available at your venue, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can secure a battery powered amplifier prior to your event date.

 

Outdoor Venues

 

The Lark Song Duo is happy to perform in outdoor venues, weather permitting. We perform with custom handmade instruments and quality sound equipment that cannot be exposed to any type of precipitation or lightning. In the case of inclement weather (extreme heat, cold, precipitation, heavy winds), alternate arrangements should be made in advance to insure that an optimal musical performance can take place at your outdoor event. These could include an alternate indoor venue, or, depending on the severity of the weather, a shade or tent shelter may suffice.

 

Special Requests

 

The Lark Song Duo is happy to accommodate song requests that are not normally on our repertoire list. The duo will be happy to guide you through the selection process and make recommendations for music that works well for the flute and harp. Musical requests made with enough advance notice will be accommodated if they lend themselves to beautiful arrangements.

 

Pedal Harp

 

Rebecca Markel performs on a beautiful Celtic harp.  The Celtic harp resonates with a broad spectrum of sound, vibration, and volume comparable to a pedal harp.  The difference between a Celtic harp and pedal harp lies in how to change keys.  The harper of the Celtic harp changes keys by hand, moving a lever.  The pedal harper changes keys by pushing pedals with the feet.  A pedal harp is much larger than a Celtic harp to accommodate for the pedal mechanism which goes up the column of the harp.  If your preference is to have a large Concert Grand Harp at your event we are happy to accommodate you.  There is an additional rental feel of $100 plus a $75 equipment transportation fee.  This price includes your choice of harp color, black, white or blonde, depending on availability.

 

Wedding Rehearsals

 

It is not necessary for the duo to attend rehearsals as they will coordinate the details for the ceremony with venue, officiants, family members and all involved parties in advance of your wedding date. If you still wish the Lark Song Duo to attend your rehearsal, the special event fee will apply.
